Vera Bergman, a talented actress, was born on February 16, 1920, in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany, to Carl Bergmann, a respected banker and diplomat. She received her theatrical training at the renowned theater school of the illustrious Max Reinhardt, where she honed her craft alongside other aspiring performers.

As a member of the esteemed ensemble Deutsches Theater Berlin, Vera Bergman made her stage debut, showcasing her exceptional acting abilities. Her early foray into film in Germany led to her starring role in the 1938 feature film "Es leuchten die Sterne".

However, Vera Bergman's thirst for new experiences and challenges prompted her to leave Berlin, and she relocated to Rome, Italy, in the late 1930s. In 1939, she auditioned for the renowned Italian filmmaker Vittorio De Sica, and despite her youthful age, she was selected for the pivotal role of L'insegnate Elisa Malgari in the 1940 film "Maddalena... zero in condotta".

Vera Bergman's decision to stay in Italy proved to be a wise one, as she went on to appear in an impressive 15 feature films between 1940 and 1954, solidifying her reputation as a versatile and accomplished actress.
