Vicky Lane, born as Grace Patricia Rose Coghlan in Dublin, Ireland, in the year 1926, embarked on a remarkable journey at a relatively young age, traveling around the world not once, but twice, prior to settling with her family in Mexico, subsequently Nevada, and finally, the affluent neighborhood of Beverly Hills.
As a talented actress, Lane is perhaps most renowned for her captivating portrayal of Paula Dupree, the ape woman, in the 1945 Universal Studios horror film, "The Jungle Captive". Additionally, she appeared in a few other films during the mid-1940s, showcasing her impressive acting range.
As a budding starlet, Lane exchanged vows with her first husband, the accomplished actor Tom Neal, in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 27, 1944. However, their marriage came to an end in 1950.
By the late 1950s, Vicky had ventured into the music industry, recording two singles and a full-length jazz album titled "I Swing For You". Her creative partner and co-conspirator in these recordings was her second husband, the esteemed jazz trumpeter Pete Candoli, whom she married in 1953. The couple welcomed a daughter, Tara, in 1954. Regrettably, their marriage came to a close in 1958.
After 1963, Vicky Lane bid farewell to Hollywood, never to return. She eventually passed away in Florida in 1983, at the age of 57, leaving behind a legacy as a talented actress and musician.
