Miguel Ángel Resendiz, also known as Latin Lover, is a renowned Mexican Luchador and actor. Under his ring name, he has gained widespread recognition, not only in his wrestling career but also in his acting endeavors. Resendiz has had the privilege of wrestling in the esteemed Mexican AAA promotion, as well as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and currently works for Perros del Mal and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) under the ring name Latino.
In addition to his wrestling accomplishments, Resendiz and his partner Mariana Vallejo Isrrade won the inaugural Bailando por un Sueño dance competition in 2005. He later returned to wrestling in late 2008, initially teasing a potential partnership with the CMLL-based group Los Perros del Mal, but ultimately decided to rejoin AAA.
During the Rey de Reyes (2009) tournament, Latin Lover qualified for the final by defeating Abismo Negro, Black Abyss, and Dark Ozz. However, he was eliminated by Electroshock in the final. Following this tournament, he began teaming with Marco Corleone, a wrestler with a similar "Ladies man" character. The duo challenged AAA World Tag Team Champions La Hermandad Extrema, only to lose due to miscommunication between the two partners.
In 2010, Latin Lover's career took a turn when AAA announced that they would no longer be booking him due to monetary issues and his failure to appear at the 2010 Rey de Reyes event. Shortly after, Perros del Mal announced that Latin Lover would be joining the promotion and debuting the following month. He later returned to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, engaging in a brawl with Héctor Garza on June 4, 2010.
After a period of inactivity, Latin Lover returned to CMLL on November 26, 2010, confronting Los Invasores, a rudo group led by Garza. He was subsequently attacked by the group before being saved by Shocker. Upon his return, Resendiz adopted the new ring name of Latino.
Latin Lover was also involved in legal actions against AAA in 2010, along with ex-AAA wrestlers Histeria and El Alebrije. The trio sought legal action against AAA over issues of name and ring character ownership, as well as unfair termination. The parties met for arbitration in Mexico City, with the aim of reaching a settlement or taking the matter to court. A second arbitration meeting was held later that year, during which Latin Lover joined the plaintiff group, claiming that he should be allowed to use the ring name on the independent circuit since he had worked as Latin Lover for 18 years.
