Prior to embarking on a professional wrestling career, Crawford established herself as a model, and it was during this time that she caught the attention of John Laurinaitis, who subsequently signed her with WWE after spotting her in a fashion catalog.
Crawford's in-ring debut took place on July 1, 2006, following rigorous training in WWE's developmental divisions, including Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling. She made her official WWE debut in 2008.
