As a talented and accomplished filmmaker, Mahoney received esteemed fellowships, including the Auerbach Fellowship, Annenberg Fellowship, Cinereach Fellowship, Maryland Fellowship, Tribeca Fellow, and IFP Narrative Lab fellow.
Mahoney's impressive credentials led to her recognition as one of "25 New Faces of Independent Film" by Filmmaker Magazine, one of ShadowAndAct/IndieWire's "Filmmakers to Watch," and one of "3 Filmmakers to Watch" in Elle Magazine's Women In Hollywood issue.
Mahoney's feature film "Yelling to the Sky" made its world premiere in the main competition at the Berlin Film Festival, earning a nomination for the Golden Bear.
In 2018, Mahoney received the opportunity to direct second unit for JJ Abrams on the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode IX, "The Rise of Skywalker."
