Victoria Anne Theresa Peterson, a multifaceted artist, was born on January 11, 1958, in Northridge, Los Angeles, California. She pursued her academic interests at the University of California, majoring in English.
In 1981, Peterson co-founded the iconic all-female rock band, The Bangles, alongside Susanna Hoffs, her younger sister Debbi Peterson, and original bassist Annette Zilinskas. The Bangles' immense popularity and success were a testament to their collective talent.
After The Bangles disbanded in 1989, Peterson formed the duo "The Psycho Sisters" with fellow singer-songwriter Susan Cowsill. "The Psycho Sisters" became a popular attraction in Los Angeles clubs during the early 1990s, although they only released a single 45. Moreover, they contributed backing vocals to albums by Steve Wynn and Giant Sand.
Peterson and Cowsill later joined the Los Angeles rock band, The Continental Drifters, in 1992. In addition, Peterson has lent her harmonious vocals to recordings by notable artists such as John Doe, Belinda Carlisle, and the Hoodoo Gurus.
Victoria Peterson served as a substitute guitarist for Charlotte Caffey during The Go-Go's 1994-1995 reunion tour, as Caffey was expecting a child. In 1999, Peterson rejoined The Bangles.
In her personal life, Victoria has been married to husband Jon Cowsill since 2003.
