Vidyut Jammwal, a martial arts expert trained in Kalaripayattu since the age of four, has dedicated himself to creating a platform for action and stunts in world cinema.
His first Bollywood outing, Force, a remake of the Tamil film Kaaka Kaaka, alongside John Abraham, showcased his action skills, earning him a clean sweep of awards for Most Promising Debut in 2012.
Subsequently, he played notable roles in Telugu films Shakti and Oosaravelli, starring NTR, and in Tamil cinema with Billa II, alongside Ajith Kumar, receiving critical acclaim for his action sequences.
In Thuppakki, alongside Vijay, and Anjaan, alongside Suriya, Vidyut's performance earned him a fan following and an award for Best Actor in a Negative Role at SIIMA Awards.
He then appeared in Commando, showcasing realistic combat-based action, all performed and designed by him, garnering over a million hits within a week of the trailer launch.
Although the film received mixed reviews, Vidyut's action earned phenomenal reviews, with critic Taran Adarsh calling him India's Next Gen action hero.
He received international recognition at the Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal and the Fantastic Fest in Texas, with action directors comparing him to Bruce Lee and Tony Jaa.
The Indian media also dubbed him one of the sexiest men they'd seen, featuring in popular lists, including Times Most Desirable, Fittest men with Best Bodies, and People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive.
Post Commando, he appeared in Bullett Raja, donning the avatar of a sharpshooter cop, and then in the sequel of his action franchise Commando and Baadshaho.
Vidyut is set to star in Yaara, a remake of the French film Les Lyonnais, playing a character that ages from 21 to 50, and is also working on his most exciting project, Junglee, directed by Chuck Russell, focusing on showcasing path-breaking action sequences without cables or body doubles.
