Vinay Sapru is a multifaceted filmmaker with a strong presence in the industry, operating as a director of feature films, advertisements, and high-profile corporate films. In addition to his creative endeavors, he co-runs a film production company, Rao & Sapru, alongside his business partner, Radhika Rao.
Prior to his foray into filmmaking, Sapru pursued a career in chartered accountancy, acquiring a professional certification. However, his true passion lay in the creative arts, and he eventually left his accounting career to join forces with Radhika Rao, with whom he founded a production house.
Throughout his career, Sapru has demonstrated a remarkable ability to produce and direct a wide range of projects, including movies, advertisements, music videos, and live shows. His work is characterized by a distinctive Disney-inspired quality, often incorporating fables and fairy tales into his narratives.
Some of Sapru's most notable projects include Lucky: No Time for Love, which was filmed on location in Saint Petersburg; I Love NY, which was set in the iconic borough of Manhattan, New York City; and Sanam Teri Kasam, which took place in both Mumbai and Johannesburg.
