Vinessa Antoine, a talented Canadian actress, embarked on her journey in the world of dance at the tender age of four, studying ballet with the esteemed Royal Academy of Dance in Toronto, Ontario.
After completing her high school education, Antoine went on to further her dance education at the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
Throughout her career, Antoine has appeared in a multitude of Canadian and American television shows, including The Resident, Interrogation, Ginny & Georgia, Heartland, Hudson & Rex, NCIS, Haven, and Being Erica.
In addition to her television work, Antoine has also performed on stage in several Off-Broadway plays in New York, including the original New York cast of Christopher Shinn's Four.
In 2018, Antoine made history by becoming the first black Canadian person to lead a dramatic show in Canada.
In 2020, Antoine received the prestigious Nova Scotia Screen Actors award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Lead or Featured Female Role for her work on Diggstown.
In 2021, Antoine was once again nominated for her outstanding performance in the legal drama Diggstown, this time in the Canadian Screen Award category of Best Lead Actress in a Drama series.
Diggstown, now in its fourth season on CBC, has showcased Antoine's exceptional acting abilities to a wider audience.
