Zanuck, who discovered her performing on Broadway and subsequently signed her to a contract with 20th Century Fox.
After a few films, Virginia made the transition to MGM, where she starred alongside Clark Gable in the iconic film "Idiots Delight". She also played the legendary Annie Oakley in "The Kid From Texas". Her impressive resume continued to grow as she briefly worked with Columbia Pictures, co-starring in "Start Cheering" alongside the iconic Jimmy Durante.
