Wade Radford, a multifaceted artist, has transitioned from his underground filmmaking roots to pursue a career in writing, photography, and poetry. During the 2010s, he created a series of no-budget, guerrilla underground films that showcased his innovative storytelling abilities.
One of his most notable works is an investigative zine titled "The Last Desert Sun," which delves into the life of Paul Watkins in Tecopa, a former member of the Manson family. Radford's writing also explores the North Yorkshire legend of Thomas Busby and the Busby Stoop Inn in his piece "Busby & Me," which highlights his personal connection to the subject matter.
Radford's work is characterized by its independence and eclectic themes, spanning genres and styles. Since 2021, he has served as the head of his one-man label, BedlamBD, in the UK, releasing over 60 limited edition zines. He chooses to release his books as zines to maintain their independent artistic feel and make them accessible to readers, believing that art should not be restricted to those with budgetary constraints.
Aside from his literary pursuits, Radford has also gained recognition for his acting abilities, earning a nomination for a "Best Actor" award for his 2014 performance in the controversial film "TWiNK." His work has also garnered global distribution.
Radford's Zine Series embodies a punk, anarcho sensibility, and features poetry that tackles a wide range of topics, including mental health, domestic abuse, anarchism, politics, LGBT issues, addiction, and more. His "Dear..." zine series showcases landscape photography taken with refurbished Polaroid cameras across the UK, while his special interest releases continue to push the boundaries of his creative expression.
