Wahid Bouzidi was a Franco-Algerian comedian and actor born on July 9, 1978, in Villepinte, France, and passed away on August 20, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
As the youngest of ten children, Wahid grew up in Bobigny, France, with his older brother Ahmed, who became his legal guardian after their parents' sudden passing when Wahid was just 15 years old. He found solace in the performing arts, initially through a Gagny theater troupe, Les Guez Guez, where he discovered his talent.
Wahid made his debut in the cinema in 2004, in the feature film Ze Film, directed by Guy Jacques. He then took theater classes in Bondy for two years before joining the Canal+ show Jamel Comedy Club, where he wrote his first text, Le Gitan, and presented it to Kader Aoun, leading to his inclusion in the troupe.
As a comedian, Wahid appeared in various films, including Case Départ, Beur Sur La Ville, Mohamed Dubois, Alad'2, and BDE, as well as in television shows such as Tongs et paréo and Captain Marleau. He also regularly participated in the show Friday, everything is permitted with Arthur on TF1.
Wahid's most recent show, "Wahid… Il Se Relève," was performed from January to June 2023 and drew inspiration from his health problems, including a stroke in 2021, which led to his hospitalization and mistreatment. The show focused on his experience in the hospital, highlighting the support of his wife and friend Booder.
Tragically, Wahid suffered a new stroke on August 16, 2023, while on vacation in Marrakech, which led to his coma and eventual passing on August 20, 2023.
