Biography

Wally Koz, a multifaceted individual, ventured into the realm of filmmaking, taking on the roles of director and producer for the notorious shot-on-video horror film "555". This particular horror movie, one of many extremely low-budget yet crudely gory underground independent horror pictures, emerged during the VHS boom of the mid to late 1980s. Notably, "555" was produced with the assistance of Koz's family and friends, shot and set in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Koz's decision to create "555" stemmed from his observation of numerous subpar fright flicks, prompting him to believe he could craft a superior movie surpassing the work of unskilled filmmakers. Notably, prior to embarking on this filmmaking endeavor, Koz had no professional experience in the field. His wife, Linda, served as associate producer and first assistant director on the project.

Outside of his sole foray into filmmaking, Koz pursued a career as a miner and gold prospector. Unfortunately, Wally Koz's life came to a close on January 1, 2006.
