Waverly was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and her name was inspired by the fictional chess-playing prodigy Waverly Jong from Amy Tan's novel "The Joy Luck Club". Like her namesake, Waverly possesses an "invisible strength" that has driven her to seize every opportunity and dive headfirst into life's experiences, leading to a lifelong adventure that is only just beginning.
As an accomplished athlete, Waverly has participated in club-level soccer, won two national competitive cheer titles, and trained in figure skating under the guidance of British pairs champion Erika Shorr. Her current passion is English Hunter/Equitation riding, where she has already achieved numerous awards and accolades across Southern California alongside her Hungarian Sporthorse partner, Wonder Boy.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Waverly is a creative individual who enjoys composing music, designing characters, and is currently refining two scripts she hopes to bring to life in the future. One script is a fantasy adventure series, while the other is a tween/YA series loosely based on her own experiences as an equestrian. When she's not fully immersed in her various pursuits, Waverly enjoys infusing her diverse experiences and interests into the characters she brings to life on screen.
Waverly's ultimate goal is to increase representation and visibility for underrepresented people of color in mainstream media, thereby encouraging others to break stereotypes and pursue their dreams on their own terms.
