Wayne Yung, a creative force to be reckoned with, was born in 1971 in the vibrant city of Edmonton, Canada, to a family of Chinese immigrants who had made the country their new home.
As he grew older, Yung's desire to express himself through various mediums only intensified, leading him to make the bold move to Vancouver in 1994. It was here that he established himself as a multi-talented writer, performer, and video artist, using his unique perspective as a queer Chinese-Canadian to shed light on pressing issues related to race and identity.
Fast forward to 2001, and Yung's artistic journey took him across the Atlantic, as he arrived in Germany and made Hamburg and Cologne his temporary homes before finally settling in the bustling city of Berlin.
In addition to his impressive artistic output, Yung has also been an active curator, organizing numerous screening events in both North America and Europe. His tireless dedication to his craft has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the world of art and beyond.
