Here is the biography of Will:
Will was born in April 1972 in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in the New Orleans, Louisiana metro area. He was part of a musical family, playing trumpet in his high school band and participating in Mardi Gras parades along with his siblings, who played the saxophone, trombone, and clarinet.
Will attended Belle Chasse High School, graduating in 1990, and then earned his B.A. in History from Louisiana State University (LSU) in August 1997. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and interned with several film directors and producers, including Oliver Stone, James Cameron, George Lucas, and Roger Corman.
Will made his writing, directing, and producing debut with the comedy film "Bill the Intern" in 2003, which he self-distributed and sold door-to-door in seven states. He then began his M.F.A. in Cinema Production at the University of Southern California (USC),graduating in May 2004.
Between 2006 and 2012, Will worked on his first feature-length documentary, "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story," which explores the life of Stan Lee, the founder of Marvel Comics. The film played at 26 film festivals and won awards at eight festivals before being distributed on multiple platforms.
Will is currently producing, writing, and directing his second feature-length documentary, "King Cake: A Big Easy Story," which is a history of Mardi Gras and the city of New Orleans. He is also working on several other projects, including three scripts for dramas and a comedy/horror/musical.
Will's family includes his parents, Jean and Rick Hess, and his three siblings, Bruce, James, and Alicia.
