Filmmaker Will Moore, a notable figure in the entertainment industry, began his academic journey at the University of Texas, where he simultaneously pursued his passion for football by playing for the esteemed Longhorns team and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
Born into a family with a rich background in the film industry, Will's father, Costume Supervisor Stanley Moore, played a significant role in shaping his early career. During his college summers, Will worked as a costumer under his father's guidance, gaining valuable experience in the industry.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Will relocated to Los Angeles and took on various tasks as a production assistant on several studio features, including Big Momma's House and Dude, Where's My Car?. He eventually secured a position at the Gersh Agency as a literary assistant, further honing his skills in the film industry.
In 2001, Will returned to his hometown of Austin and enrolled in the Austin Film Works Production Program. During his second year, he was selected to write, direct, and edit one of two short thesis films, which later screened at the iconic Alamo Draft House.
In 2003, Will produced his first feature film, Wesley Cash, a script he had written himself. In 2005, he sold the North American rights of Wesley Cash to Vanguard Cinema, marking a significant milestone in his career. Two years later, he completed his second feature film, Cowboy Smoke, which premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and went on to tour the festival circuit.
