Wisit Sasanatieng, a highly accomplished and renowned filmmaker, began his journey in the world of arts after completing his training at Silpakorn University, a prestigious institution in Bangkok. Following his education, Wisit ventured into the world of commercials, where he honed his skills as a director, crafting compelling and engaging scripts that left a lasting impression on his audience. His creative prowess and innovative approach to storytelling soon caught the attention of his friend and colleague, Nonzee Nimibutr, who sought his expertise in writing scripts for his own projects.
One of Wisit's most notable collaborations with Nonzee was the script for the 1999 film, Nang Nak, a critically acclaimed production that showcased Wisit's exceptional writing skills and ability to craft engaging narratives.
However, it was Wisit's directorial debut, Tears of the Black Tiger (2000),that truly cemented his status as a rising star in the Thai film industry. This groundbreaking production not only marked Wisit's directorial debut but also made history by becoming the first Thai film to be officially selected for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
