Wolf-Peter Arand is a multifaceted individual, simultaneously embracing the roles of writer and dramaturg. Born on January 31, 1987, in a quaint village nestled along the Baltic Sea in the former GDR (East Germany),his creative inclinations were undoubtedly influenced by his formative years.
Arand's academic background in Film Studies from Freie Universität Berlin has enabled him to hone his skills in crafting engaging screenplays for both short and feature films, as well as stage plays, poetry, and prose.
In 2011, he published his debut book, 'Gedankenschatten', a thought-provoking German language short novel that delved into the realm of dystopian fiction.
Subsequently, Arand's focus shifted towards screenwriting, where he collaborated with director Juliane Block. Their partnership began in 2013, and they have since developed a prolific working relationship.
Arand's initial collaboration with Block was as a script doctor on her movie '8 Remains (2018)', which premiered in 2018. This marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership, as he went on to co-produce and write Block's psychological thriller '3 Lives (2019)', starring Mhairi Calvey, slated for release in 2019.
Following the completion of '3 Lives', Block and Arand embarked on the development of the zombie horror film 'The Curse of Hobbes House (2020)', which was shot in February and March 2019, with post-production commencing in March of the same year.
Their upcoming project is the Christmas adventure film 'Summer's Wish'.
Presently, Arand resides and works in Berlin, where he continues to nurture his creative pursuits.
