Yaani King, a New York native, started her acting career off-Broadway at The Classic Stage Company in "The Alchemist". She transitioned to film and television, appearing in "The Prince and Me" alongside Julia Stiles and "Sex and the City" in 1998.
After studying at The Actors Centre in London, Ms. King relocated to Los Angeles and landed a series regular role on the hit TNT show "Saving Grace" alongside Holly Hunter. She has since appeared in numerous guest starring roles on shows like "Criminal Minds", "Major Crimes", "Extant", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", and "The Magicians".
Yaani has also had recurring roles on shows such as "Blood & Oil", "The Haves and the Have Nots", and "Aquarius". She has ventured into video game voice-over and motion-capture, playing the role of Riley in the award-winning "The Last of Us: Left Behind" in 2014.
Born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens, Yaani is of Guyanese West Indian descent. She spent her childhood watching her mother perform on stage, and while attending LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, Yaani recognized acting as her calling.
In recent years, Yaani has combined her love for acting with her humanitarian work as a founding member of Charitable Living, a group dedicated to supporting foundations and charities. She is also an active volunteer at Aviva Family and Children's Services, mentoring young actors. In her free time, Yaani enjoys spending quality time with her husband, actor Adam Mondschein.
