Elena Konstantinovna Tonunts, born Kokalievskaya, is a renowned Soviet and Russian film actress, director, and screenwriter. Born on July 17, 1954, in Magadan, her journey in the cinematic world began shortly after completing her education.
Elena graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University in 1976, and made her debut in the film industry the following year. She then pursued a degree in acting at the State Institute of Theatrical Arts, under the guidance of renowned instructor K. Mikhailov, graduating in 1981.
Not content to rest on her laurels, Elena further honed her skills by enrolling in the Directing Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, where she studied under the tutelage of the esteemed Yuri Ozerov, graduating in 1992.
