Yoann was born in the vicinity of Geneva, Switzerland, situated on the border shared by France and Switzerland, thus making him a dual citizen of both nations. During his teenage years, he spent a year as an exchange student in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he immersed himself in the world of theater. Subsequently, he attempted to pursue his passion at INSAS, a renowned institution located in Brussels, Belgium.
Upon graduating in 1997, Yoann embarked on a journey as a professional actor, performing in various theater productions in Belgium, France, and Switzerland. His impressive resume includes the writing and acting credits for the short film "Week-end" in 2010, as well as securing a main role in the movie "De leur vivant".
As his career continued to flourish, Yoann began to take on more prominent roles in films and television series. In 2016, he played the lead role in the series "The Break" ("La Trêve" - 2 seasons) and the title role in "Un homme à la mer", earning him the Magritte award for most promising actor in 2017.
Throughout his career, Yoann has consistently demonstrated his versatility by juggling roles in both theater, film, and television. In 2019, he received a nomination for the Magritte award for best actor in a supporting role for his performance in the movie "The Benefit of the Doubt". Most recently, in 2022, Yoann portrayed the male lead role of Mark in the Belgian series "Pandore".
