Biography

Yuliya Solntseva is a renowned Soviet filmmaker and actress, whose impressive body of work includes the critically acclaimed cinematic masterpieces "The Enchanted Desna" (1964),"Chronicle of Flaming Years" (1961),the classic science fiction film "Aelita: Queen of Mars" (1924),and the visually stunning "Poem of the Sea" (1958).

Throughout her illustrious career, Solntseva has achieved numerous milestones, including the distinction of being the first female director to receive the prestigious Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival for her remarkable work on "Chronicle of Flaming Years" (1961).
