Yuriy Entin is a renowned Soviet and Russian poet, playwright, lyricist, and screenwriter, whose illustrious career has spanned multiple decades.
Born in Moscow, Entin comes from a family with a strong background in science and economics. His father, Sergey Entin, was a metallurgical engineer and candidate of technical sciences, while his mother, Sofya Entina, was an economist. From a young age, Entin demonstrated a keen interest in literature and history, which would later become a defining aspect of his life and work.
After completing his education at the Pedagogical Institute, where he graduated with a degree in History, Entin went on to study at the Polygraphic Institute, specializing in Editing. He then began his professional career as a history teacher and librarian at a school, where he could share his passion for learning with his students.
In 1962, Entin took on the role of editor-in-chief at the children's edition of the 'Melodiya' company, a position he held until 1969. During this period, he honed his skills as a writer and developed a keen sense of storytelling, which would later serve him well in his work as a screenwriter and lyricist.
Since 1969, Entin has dedicated himself to writing songs for cinema and television, as well as scripts and books. His prolific output has earned him membership in several prestigious organizations, including the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the Union of Theater Workers of Russia, and the Union of Writers of Moscow.
Throughout his career, Entin has written numerous songs, many of which have been featured in children's films. He has also authored several books for children, cementing his reputation as a masterful storyteller and wordsmith.
