Yvette Curtis, a talented individual born on August 16, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, began her remarkable journey in the world of entertainment at the tender age of three.
As a young child, she would appear in small dance recitals and off-off Broadway musical productions, showcasing her skills as a singer and dancer. Her early years were marked by numerous print modeling gigs for magazines and toy box covers, as well as appearances in TV commercials.
At the age of eight, Yvette landed a significant role in the National Touring Company of "The Me Nobody Knows" as the characters Lillie Mae and Rhoda combined. She later reprised her role as Lillie Mae in the Boston Production Company for a lengthy run at the Open Circle Theater.
Yvette's film credits include "A Warm December" and "Claudine," while she also appeared as a principal performer in several television commercials between the 1970s and early 1980s. After graduating from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1981, she attended Marymount Manhattan College, where she earned a BFA in Acting.
Following college, Yvette performed in various productions of "Ain't Misbehavin'" as Charlaine, including notable roles at the Westgate Dinner Theater in Toledo, Ohio, Daedalus Productions National Touring Company out of New York City, and Florida's Hippodrome Theater and Touring Company.
In the mid-1980s, she was cast as Crystal in "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville, PA. In the late 1980s, Yvette was featured as a singer/dancer in the ensemble of the Goodspeed Opera House production of "Oh Kay!".
After becoming a mother for the first time in 1991, Yvette decided to stay close to home and raise her family while continuing to perform locally in children's theater musicals with Macy's Productions.
As of 2014, Yvette is a divorced mother of three talented children, all of whom have been blessed with the gift of song. Despite her busy personal life, she continues to nurture her love for the arts while working in the corporate world for a popular media company.
