Born in Toronto, Canada, Zan's parents made a significant move to the city after experiencing failed attempts to enter the United States through Ellis Island in the late 1950s. From a young age, Zan had a clear vision for his future, aspiring to become a Police officer, just like his father, who proudly served as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for an impressive 10 years.
Throughout his academic journey, Zan majored in both law enforcement and theatre courses, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his pursuits. Unfortunately, a devastating car accident in 1997 brought an abrupt end to Zan's law enforcement career. Seeking a new path, he began to explore and develop his passion for theatre, which was initially fostered by his high school theatre teacher's words of encouragement. The teacher had predicted that if Zan applied himself to the craft of acting, he would achieve great success.
Zan's journey in the world of acting began in Toronto, Canada, where he honed his skills before relocating to Los Angeles. He chose to study the Lee Strassburg method, a renowned acting technique that has produced some of the most talented actors in the industry. Today, Zan is an active and respected member of the Los Angeles theatre and film community, boasting an impressive list of credits that showcase his range and versatility as a performer.
