Eric Stanze is a multi-talented filmmaker with a wide range of credits to his name, including director, writer, producer, editor, Director of Photography, and 2nd Unit Director. His body of work encompasses a diverse array of projects, including independent feature films, music videos, documentaries, short films, and more.
Stanze's filmmaking career began with the release of his debut film, Savage Harvest, in 1994. Although it initially received limited recognition, the film has since developed a devoted cult following. However, it was his subsequent film, Ice From The Sun, released in 1999, that catapulted him to prominence as a visionary filmmaker with a distinct and constantly evolving style. The enthusiastic response to this film marked the beginning of a significant expansion in his fan base.
Stanze's reputation as a masterful filmmaker continued to grow with the release of his intense, brutal, and critically-acclaimed film, Scrapbook, in 1999. This film earned him the prestigious title of Best Independent Film Of The Year from Rue Morgue Magazine.
In addition to his work as a director, Stanze has also collaborated with other notable filmmakers. He was hired to direct 2nd Unit for two films by Jim Mickle: Stake Land, released in 2010, and We Are What We Are, released in 2013. Both films received widespread acclaim and numerous awards at film festivals.
