Born on December 11th, 1945, in Burma, Zienia Mian was a unique individual with a diverse cultural heritage, being the child of an English father and a Burmese mother. Her early life was marked by geographical relocation, with her family settling in Singapore, Borneo, and eventually Portugal, where she received her primary education.
As a child, Zienia's dream was to become a professional dancer, and after securing her father's approval, she enrolled in the prestigious dancing and acting school led by the Arts Education Trust in Tring, Hertfordshire, UK. However, as she progressed, her interests began to shift towards modern dance, and she found herself drawn to the world of acting.
Without any formal training, Zienia launched her acting career in the 1960s, still a teenager at the time. It was not until the mid-to-late 1970s that she achieved one of her greatest professional successes, landing the role of Sandra Benes in the hit British science fiction television series Space: 1999 (1975). The show, which ran for two seasons of 48 episodes, brought her international recognition and exposure.
In recent years, Zienia has continued to work in the entertainment industry, taking on roles in various films, making numerous television guest appearances, and starring in live theatrical productions in the UK. Some of her notable credits include "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Laundry", and "Present Continuous".
