In this drama, Jacob, an Amish farmer, feels suffocated by his traditional way of life, unlike his wife Annie who is deeply rooted in their community. When Jacob accidentally kills a wealthy outsider who's been exploiting their family, Annie turns to her parents for support, while Jacob seeks to introduce their young son Caleb to modern luxuries.
