The story follows Damon Dillingham, a newly-discharged Army veteran, who returns home to find his partner Eddie Martin has invested their savings in a racehorse instead of reuniting their pre-war band. Damon starts anew, and his fortunes improve with the help of singer Ann Rogers and Gene Krupa.
