In Spokane, Washington, Juniper Pearl, a young artist with mental challenges, requires constant care. Her brother Benny, who owns a garage, sacrifices his personal life to care for her after their parents' death. Exhausted by the constant turnover of housekeepers, Benny considers moving Joon to a group home. However, Sam, a quirky cousin of Benny's friend Mike, enters their lives after a losing poker hand. Sam's eccentricities, including his love of physical comedy, create a connection with Benny and Joon, complicating their lives as Benny evaluates Sam's ability to handle Joon's needs.
