NYPD officer Megan Turner shoots and kills a supermarket hold-up perpetrator on her first day on the job, but is suspended due to lack of evidence. As she investigates the case with partner Nick Mann, she discovers that the murderer is her boyfriend, Eugene Hunt, a commodities trader who claims to have been at the supermarket during the hold-up.
