Michel Poiccard, a reckless and troubled individual, commits a heinous crime after stealing a car and flees from a pursuing motorcycle policeman. Wanted by the authorities, he reconnects with Patricia Franchini, a charming American student, and plans to leave Paris with her to settle a debt and escape to Italy. Despite being a wanted man with his face plastered in the media, Poiccard remains oblivious to the danger closing in around him as he indulges in his love of American movies and his fascination with Patricia.
