Mike, a struggling artist, brings his comic strip heroine Brenda Starr to life, but she leaves the strip due to his lack of appreciation. To win her back and keep his job, Mike enters the strip himself, becoming Brenda's ally in the Amazon jungle as they compete with rival reporter Libby to find a scientist with a secret formula for cheap and powerful gas.
