In this movie, a young woman is resistant to marrying any of the suitors who come to court her. However, she eventually agrees to marry a man named "Bristlelip" after he makes a deal with her father. On their wedding day, "Bristlelip" appears at the girl's doorstep disguised as a peddler, and she is forced to marry him. He takes her to his rustic cabin, where she struggles to adapt to her new role as a wife, failing at various domestic tasks and attempting to sell pottery.
