Puck Ekstedt, a literature doctoral student, joins her supervisor Rutger and his wife at their summer house on an isolated island for Midsummer celebrations. The group of friends, including historian Einar Bure, are all connected through their past. As tensions rise between them, a former fiancée, Marianne Wallman, unexpectedly arrives with her girlfriend. The next morning, Puck discovers Marianne's dead body in the woods. With no other way to call for help, the group is trapped on the island, and suspicion falls on Georg Malm, a former lover of Marianne. But when Georg is found murdered the next day, the group must work together to uncover the truth behind the killings.
