The movie follows the Chancelor family as they embark on a journey after saying goodbye to the father, only to have an accident near a country farm. They're taken in by farmer Lukas Walton, and the father is never seen again. Eight years later, the father receives a mysterious call claiming to be his son, Cole, prompting him to hire an ex-detective to investigate. However, the detective uncovers a sinister plot involving the local Sheriff and Lukas, who's been raising Cole as his own. But what happened to the mother, Maggie, remains a mystery.
