In the anarchist squatter town of Slab City, Southern California, a community of off-grid inhabitants thrives. Surrounded by the United States Navy and Marine Corps, who conduct frequent aerial bombing and live fire exercises, the residents of Slab City live life on their own terms. At the heart of this eclectic community is Rob, who runs a ramshackle internet cafe, "Desert Coffee", where he prepares coffee for his customers every morning at 6am.
