In the 1978 film, a storm forces a group of students from St. Andrews, a Catholic school for boys and girls, to hold detention in the old chapel. However, Billy Moons, a troubled student, fails to show up. Ten minutes into the detention, Billy and his two friends, Morgan and Psycho, burst in, armed to the teeth. Billy seeks revenge against the students for past humiliations, while Morgan aims to settle scores with the priests over the abuse his younger brother Paulie suffered. Paulie's suicide in despair only adds to the tension, and the situation becomes even more sinister when Psycho discovers that Paulie was not the only victim.
