In the late 1960s, a journalist named Fernando and his friend César join a terrorist group, MR8, to combat the Brazilian dictatorship. When César is wounded and captured during a bank robbery, Fernando takes drastic action, kidnapping the American ambassador in Brazil to demand the release of 15 political prisoners in exchange for his friend's life.
