Dutch Malone, a gang leader, suffers a car accident and is hospitalized without his gang's knowledge. The District Attorney recruits a taxidermist named Peter Winkly, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Malone, to impersonate him and lead the gang. As Winkly takes over, only Rita, Malone's girlfriend, suspects something is amiss. Meanwhile, Malone, now aware of the impostor, sets out to confront him.
