Havana Rose background

Havana Rose

As the clock ticks down, a determined diplomat makes a last-ditch effort to persuade a powerful duo to inject a crucial injection of capital into his country's ailing economy, averting a catastrophic financial meltdown.

Ambassador Rico DeMarco's daughter Estelita tries to secure a $5 million loan for her country, Lower Salamia, but accidentally ruins the deal. She then uses her amateur financial skills to convince a wealthy couple, Filbert and Mrs. Fillmore, to lend the money by posing as a gypsy fortuneteller. However, Mrs. Fillmore's jealousy causes her to leave, and Estelita flees to Reno to be with her lover, Tex Thompson. The situation becomes complicated when Estelita's father tries to find her, and a local reporter's story leads Filbert to believe his wife has left him, causing him to fly to Reno. Meanwhile, Lower Salamia's insurrectionist faction plans to kidnap Mrs. Fillmore.
