A struggling farmer and his father venture from the mountains to the village to seek financial help from relatives, but they find themselves in dire straits due to bureaucratic issues and corruption. Desperate for a solution, the father sacrifices their last cow to buy a moped, which his son uses to work as a taxi driver. The young farmer's first passenger is Sanmei, who has returned to Myanmar to bury her grandfather and escape an arranged marriage. She finds a new sense of purpose and begins a life with her son in her homeland, eventually taking on a job as a drug runner and convincing the young farmer to become her driver.
