In the vast Great Plains, a young chief's son named Nishko embarks on a rite of passage to tame a majestic painted pony. As he approaches manhood, his peaceful clan is suddenly attacked by a neighboring tribe, and Nishko must navigate a series of challenges, including the kidnapping of three young women, his pony's illness, and his own injuries. With his mother in a coma and the medicine man urging him to make a difficult sacrifice, Nishko must use his bravery, kindness, and quick thinking to survive and ultimately find rescue from an unexpected source.
