In a poverty-stricken neighborhood, Insiang lives with her bitter and disapproving mother Tonya, who takes out her anger on those around her. When Tonya evicts her husband's relatives, she makes way for her young boyfriend Dado to move in, despite his youth and the fact that he's the town bully. Dado forces himself on Insiang, who is initially outraged but is soon betrayed by her mother who blames her for her own rape.
