In pre-WWII Czechoslovakia, the lives of two young children are dramatically altered by the turbulent events of the era, as they confront devastating experiences that are beyond their control.

The poignant story of two young children, George and Hana Brady, who grew up in pre-WWII Czechoslovakia and endured terrible events due to being born Jewish. The film blends documentary and dramatic techniques to tell their story, as well as the present-day story of Japanese children and their teacher, Fumiko Ishioka, who solved the mystery of Hana Brady's suitcase from Auschwitz. The film provides a contemporary global perspective and lessons for a better future, directed by award-winning filmmaker Larry Weinstein.
