In Madrid, a boy named Juan is haunted by the monster Hollowface, and his mother seeks the help of Father Antonio to rid their lives of the terror. Meanwhile, in London, a construction worker named John Farrow is devoted to his teenage daughter Mia, who begins to experience strange occurrences when she discovers a mysterious box at her grandparents' countryside home. As Hollowface appears in Mia's bedroom, John springs into action to protect her, but a subsequent attack raises questions about whether they are dealing with a real entity or their own paranoia.
