A group of veteran soldiers, including Ricky Malone and Spud Winters, attempt to transition into the entertainment industry by taking over an old summer resort. They're joined by Terry, a young woman who has fled her father's attempts to suppress her own show business ambitions, and who becomes the resort's singer.
