Liberation Day background

Liberation Day

Laibach, a Slovenian avant-garde group, challenges conventional boundaries by presenting their art in authoritarian countries under the Iron Curtain, defying the distinction between artistic expression and propaganda.

Under the guidance of a former fan turned director, the ex-Yugoslavian cult band Laibach becomes the first foreign rock group to perform in North Korea. The band faces cultural differences and censorship as they prepare to play for an audience unfamiliar with alternative rock'n'roll.
