A struggling writer, Guy, claims to be working on a movie script, but his friends and acquaintances doubt his ability to deliver. He meets a quirky filmmaker, Jill Custard, and her enthusiastic assistant, Ben, who are working on a low-budget project. Guy teams up with a has-been filmmaker, Gerald, who has a dubious reputation and enlists Guy's help to write a script for what could be the most ridiculous movie ever made.
